Question 1

What information do you need to engineer a custom quartz tube or component?

Accepted Answer

Please send outer and inner diameter (or wall thickness), length, required tolerances, end configuration (open, closed, flanged, ground joint or welded fittings), material grade (transparent or opaque fused quartz), working temperature and atmosphere, annual or batch quantity, and a drawing in PDF, DWG or STEP format. Complete data lets our engineers confirm manufacturability and lead time in a single review.

Question 2

What is the maximum operating temperature of fused quartz?

Accepted Answer

Transparent fused quartz typically supports continuous service around 1,100 °C and short exposures up to roughly 1,250 °C, with a softening point near 1,683 °C. Real limits depend on grade, load, atmosphere and cycle time. Above about 1,100 °C, surface contamination such as alkali residue from skin contact accelerates devitrification, so quartzware should be cleaned and handled with clean gloves before firing.

Question 3

How does Southeast Quartz verify quality before shipment?

Accepted Answer

Products undergo helium mass-spectrometry leak detection, pressure resistance testing and purity testing before leaving the factory, together with dimensional inspection against the customer drawing, to ensure stable performance with no impurities and no leakage.

Question 4

Can you manufacture oversized quartz tubes and non-standard quartz shapes?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our workshop combines flame hot-working with CNC cold machining, so we produce oversized fused quartz tubes, bell jars, slotted quartz boats, flanged reactors, irregular shaped quartz sheets and fully customized quartz instruments according to customer equipment parameters.

Question 5

Where is Southeast Quartz located and which markets do you export to?

Accepted Answer

Our factory is at No. 1 Qingsheng Rd., Qinghu Industrial Park, Donghai County, Jiangsu, China, within China's best-known crystal and quartz industrial cluster. Besides customers throughout China, we export to Europe, the Americas, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
